What is it with Medium writers and this obsession with “narcissists”? If someone who grew up in isolation their entire lives were to attempt to gain a perspective on humanity via this platform, they would probably presume that a majority of the population were narcissistic assholes, but the stats simply don’t bare this out. The term is so over used here its becoming meaningless.

“This person hurt me! He’s is a narcissist!”

I think we can do better than this…

“So, while it is common to refer to a selfish or arrogant person as a narcissist, the psychological definition is not only subtle but is also relatively rare.”
