The wisdom of crowds works wonderfully when attempting to deduce statements of fact (how much does the bull weigh), but when garnering public opinion on something like a movie, it can fall flat. Movies, like Venom, are produced to induced a dopamine response to generate positive buzz. People who are trained in specific fields don’t respond to this trigger in the same way untrained people do, hence the spread.
Super hero movies, for the most part, aren’t “good” movies. They are the product of a formulaic production to sell as many tickets as possible.
