I still know way too many "very smart" people who are looking to this possible vaccine as a panacea. They refuse to believe there is a possibility that this corona virus turns into a seasonal epidemic like the flu. Its remarkable to listen to them be so irrational about the entire thing. The media really stirred the pot this time. It was an effective gaslighting of the public.

Here is to hoping we can get a vaccine and save lives, but I think its pretty clear that eradication is off this table. This isn't polio.
