You had an answer for everything, but your answers were never your own. All your answers came from books, magazines, articles. You were well read, but you were not brave enough to voice your own opinions and it left me wondering about your authenticity.

Who were you really, I wondered.

Yes, you had a remarkable capacity to memorize other people’s ideas and to speak articulately about almost any topic in a confident tone, but it made me feel like you were adopting someone else’s identity and it made me feel like it was dishonest.

I love your writing style and this is brilliant. I’ve met so many people that other’s seem to misinterpret as “intelligent”, when all they are doing is regurgitating memorized facts, statements, and ideas. I am always surprised at how few of us can see through this veil.
