Now I am on the defensive immediately because you are very clearly saying one thing, then claiming another and framing it a context that my “lack of understanding” is offensive. This is where the break down occurs. Now I feel as if I don’t parrot certain key terminology or phrases I will be closed out. I am in fact already anxious about engaging with you because your comments read as if your default position is that I am a racist and I must prove that I am not, which is really the crux of my original comment.
